Making Monday : Borrowed Making
Some borrowed makings. I saw some beautiful pieces of lace at the weekend. I do wish I could do something as lovely but I don’t think I have the time or patience. I do have a lace cushion and some bobbins given to me by a friend whose daughter used to be a lacemaker. I do have a friend who knows about lace making but I have told myself I mustn’t get sucked in!
It was mesmerising to see the bobbins being moved around.

I’ve been very intrigued and it was peeked even more about a year ago when my mom and read The Lace Reader together. But I too doubt my patience, plus I do not know anyone who does it.

I’ve made bobbin lace, and it’s a great meditative aid. Until you notice a mistake.

I have several photos of Bugsy with a watering can on his head. Boy was obsessed.

Fortunately my watering can (for houseplants) is far too small for the cats to get their heads into.

Yes We (watering) Can!!
Oh lace making is such a beautiful art, but I must not try something new. I can’t keep up with the things I like. We have bobbin lace makers here and I saw some at the craft fair!!
