UFO Resurrection Challenge Knit 1

This is my first UFO for the challenge. It is a baby blanket which I planned to knit back at the beginning of May. The baby was born in November so I figure I’d better quickly knit it as they are travelling to New Zealand in March and have asked for some autumn/winter clothes as a gift.

This is how much yarn I have left now. I knit up another ball since I took this photo.

I’ve been chivvying myself along with it by knitting a bit of this sweater (lovely Grace silk/wool combo) as a reward for every chunk of baby blanket I complete. Unfortunately, I had to frog quite a bit last night – my reading skills are a bit limited and I misread the instructions! So it’s a bit lopsided. I’m going to use this side as the back (the front is knit the same).

Some late (or early, depending on the way you look at it) Debbie Bliss December news – Carrie K has finished her cable scarf – way to go, Carrie K! You did it!!
I’m coming to terms with Jasper being at his new home. We visited him ever so briefly late last week and he was lying very happily on their sofa. I was glad that he miaowed a hello at me and started purring when he saw me so he hasn’t forgotten me. We’ve agreed that when they let him out that we’d let him decide who he wants to live with. I’m hoping he’ll stay with them now because he looks so happy.

Lots of wool to sit on, all for meeeeeeeeeeeee!

Nothing like the kid being here to inspire the finishing of knitted baby objects, huh?

That’s a great blanket! Why do we work best with big deadlines like that?!
I love the color of your new sweater! And I’m glad to hear that Jasper’s getting settled in.
