Caturday’s Been Framed

I have to be super careful to keep the door to my workroom shut as those kittens love to get in and go crazy with any yarn they can get their paws on. Unfortunately, I popped downstairs to make a quick lunch intending to go straight back up but got sucked into watching another episode of Black Sails with pao. An hour later, I was looking round and realised Katerina was not present.

We rushed upstairs and were puzzled to find this.

Tamyra isn’t really into stealing yarn.

Katerina was busy playing with another two skeins in our bedroom.

But this yarn was under Tamyra’s body so we are wondering if Katerina has framed her.

After all, this is the face of naughtiness!

Ooh lala.. socks!

Ta da…! I’ve been knitting as much as the kittens would allow me. Katerina keeps stealing the ball of yarn and taking off with it so I’ve had to make sure I knit quickly whilst she is asleep. These socks have gone to live with a friend in Korea.

She is a big fan of Claude’s so hopefully she’ll forgive him stealing the yarn!!

Caturday’s All Sleepy

We were meant to go to a party in London today but sadly we were both feeling distinctly poorly and couldn’t go so we had to spend the day in with the kitties instead.

Claude is a champion at sleeping.

He does it well and I am able to knit when he is sleeping.

I knit quite a lot whilst he slept.

Until he woke up and wanted to play with the yarn!

My mum

When I was a teenager, I used to rage about how unfair it was I wasn’t allowed to do this and that. My mum was a typical Tiger Mother so anything apart from studying hard was not allowed. It is only in later years, that I really feel a bit of sadness that I spent so much time with her studying at home and quietly resenting it. After all, I didn’t ever get invited to the longed for slumber parties that my friend’s did. I did think of her when I did manage a-kind-of-version-of-that-kind-of-slumber-party when my friend from school and I stayed in a hotel in London together for our school reunion in October but it was nicer and we got more sleep and had spa treatments. So I definitely won on that front.

So my mum would have been 80 today. I miss her.

Good night, Bernard

I had a sad start to today. I got news that lovely, crazy, nut job Bernard had been hit by a car and found dead late last night. I had just finished up my feeding duties with him just that morning and gave him a great big cuddle and a big bowl of Whiskas as a parting gift. Little did I know it would be the last time I saw him alive.

My heart is with his owners R and P who had a bad return from their holiday. I will miss this sad, funny, crazy little character who I enjoyed the company of when they were away over the last year. We had many cappuccinos together and he bit me (playfully) many times.

Good night, sweet boy. xx

Happy Birthday, Tamyra! 7 today

My lovely Tamyra is 7 today! She woke me up before the alarm went off with her latest trick – head boinking me in the face! It is alarming when such a big cat does it.

I still find it hard to believe how big she has grown since she came to live with us and even harder to believe that Katerina will be a similar size in a couple of years.

Happy Birthday, my beautiful girl. xxxx
